New in 2008 - We're giving Reserve Team Tournament Prizes
of Blue Ribbon Spur Straps!
|
RULES OF TEAM TOURNAMENT
- Points calculated on a 7 point system (see charts below)
- Must enter a minimum of 3 classes.
- Everyone gets an automatic one point for showing in a class.
(Example: If you show 3 classes and do not place you still get 3 points)
- Everyone gets an automatic 2 points for showing in any Halter class.
(Example: If you showed youth geldings and open geldings you automatically get 4 points - Grand & Reserve do not count)
- Points are based on Exhibitor (not horse or rider/horse)
(Example: Open exhibitors can show as many horses as they want and the placings for all horses will be totaled. Amateurs and Youth may show more then one horse and have them count towards their scores)
- You will fill out an entry form SEPARATE from the show entries BEFORE 10pm on Friday. On the entry you will check all classes you will be participating in and how many horses you will be showing.
(These forms are for management to look at and pair up teams)
HOWEVER- we want to make fair teams so if you did not sign up for a class on this form, we CAN NOT count it towards final points.
- 3 people to a team.
(Friday night show management will pair up teams of 3 based on the above entry forms.)
- The team with the most points will win SCOOTERS!
- Reserve team gets Blue Ribbon Spur Straps!
- The individual with the most points will win a SCOOTER!
-If that person is on the winning team the 4th scooter will go to the next person with the highest total points.
Common Questions
- NO - you may NOT make your own teams.
- Yes - you can show as many horses as you want following APHA rules and they will count towards your team. If someone in your family or an open rider also shows the same horse, the points would go to that team. The points follow the exhibitor. Youth and Amateur riders are encouraged to go in Open classes.
- YOU MUST ENTER BY FRIDAY @ 10pm!
We want to make teams as fair as possible by counting how many entries people are going in.
- Yes - ALL 3 people on the winning team get scooters :-)
