The horse must be a registered Paint. Exception: weanling eligible for Paint registration.
Ownership of the horse must be on record at the APHA office. In the event of a leased horse, the lease must be on record with the APHA office.
Minnesota points will be recognized from the date the owner/lessee is a paid member of the MPHA.
In the event of transfer of ownership/lease, points will be transferred with the horse, and the new owner/lessee recognized. Additional points will be recognized upon the new owner fulfilling membership requirements.
The horse must be exhibited to at least one more than half the judges at MPHA-approved shows in that specific event.
If a class is routinely split (i.e., Jr. & Sr.), but is combined during a show, points will be recognized in the age event the horse qualifies for.
All debts to the MPHA and MPHA-approved show management must be paid in full.
Members of the MPHA who are indebted to the MPHA for a period in excess of 60 days shall be suspended from the MPHA until such time as the indebtedness is settled. This suspension shall affect participation in all MPHA activities to include, but not be limited to, attendance at general membership or Board of Director meetings, the right to vote on MPHA matters, exhibiting at MPHA approved shows, and the receipt of Year End & other MPHA awards and trophies.
AMATEUR CLASSES
The MPHA adopts the APHA rules for eligibility and ownership. In addition, the following rules will apply:

The MJPHC adopts the AJPHA rules for eligibility and ownership. In addition, the following rules apply:
Points for year-end awards are earned in youth classes only. (Youth classes qualifying for youth points are listed in the APHA Official Rule Book.)
MJPHC points will be recognized from the date the exhibitor is a paid member of the MJPHC.
In the event of transfer of ownership, points earned prior to transfer will remain with the original exhibitor.
The horse must be exhibited to at least one more than half the judges at MPHA-approved shows in that specific event.
If a class is routinely offered in age categories (13 & U and 14-18) but is combined during the show, points will be recognized in the age event the exhibitor qualifies for.
Points are recognized on a one horse/one exhibitor combination.
All debts to the MJPHC, MPHA and MPHA-approved show management must be paid in full.
POINT TABULATION – OPEN & AMATEUR & YOUTH
Point Tabulation
The MPHA Board of Directors will appoint no less than two persons to maintain point records.
In each approved class, the horse earning the highest number of points will be recognized as “Champion”.
In the event that two horses tie for “Champion” status, both will be recognized; however, no “Reserve Champion” will be recognized.
In each approved class, the horse earnings the second highest number of point will be recognized as “Reserve Champion”.
In the event that two horses tie for “Reserve Champion” status, both will be recognized.
Points will be awarded as follows:

ALL AROUND CHAMPION – YOUTH, AMATUER, & OPEN
Eligibility Requirements
A horse must compete in halter and at least three approved performance classes in that classification (i.e., Youth, Amateur, or Open). Novice Amateur needs to show in the Amateur halter class.
The horse that accumulates the highest total number of points in that classification will be awarded the distinction of “All Around Champion”. In the event of a tie, the horse accumulating the most first places will receive the award.
